Title: Promised Land
Post by: Praeceps on October 21, 2014, 11:30:02 PM
A feeling of nostalgia and the fact that I get distracted by odd questions led to the following question:

I make a successful RA with CotH using PL for site access. My next turn, I do the same thing. I believe at this point PL is not discarded as its ability is only active during battle where it was negated and thus it could not count as a use. Correct?

Promised Land - Hero gains access to any site. Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joshua, and King David may use Promised Land without limit. May only be used twice by other Heroes, then it must be discarded.

Captain of the Host - Interrupt and prevent all special abilities except banding. Fight by the numbers.

Captain of the Host has a play as/errata so it only negates characters and enhancements, except banding.

Because of this the ability on promised land is still active and it is discarded.

For reference, the official errata from that thread:

Captain of the Host (Warriors) - Negate all special abilities on Characters and Enhancements (except banding and Captain’s special abilities).

Captain of the Host (Kings) - Negate all special abilities on Characters and Enhancements (except banding, weapons, and Captain’s special abilities).

I expect it would be the same scenario for other heroes like, Ira (wa), Strong Angel, Moses etc.
Am I right?

No errata is needed for them because they all explicitly say they negate characters and enhancements.  Only Captain ever had wording that indicated it could negate more than those cards.
