Title: Prolonged Negate
Post by: Eragon5 on March 02, 2015, 10:24:59 AM
What if player A makes a rescue attempt with Swift a 9/9 angel, and player B blocks with Dathan a 5/6 brown brigade evil character. Dathan plays preemptive strike (special Ability: prevent the next good enhancement) then plays dungeons of Malchiah (special ability: take a hero prisoner and place in opponent's land of bondage). Swift has special initiative, however any negate enhancement he plays will be prevented by preemptive strike. Is player A allowed to play any enhancement and then play a negate enhancement, or does the Dungeons of Malchiah have to be negated with the first enhancement you play? Also what if you have a search draw pile or discard pile for an enhancement ability? would you be able to search for a negate enhancement and play it? My root question is can you prolong negating an enhancement, as long as you ultimately negate the player's enhancement that is giving you special initiative?
Thanks, again if anything is unclear, tell me and I'll try to clarify.

With Special Initiative, Swift has to negate the Dungeon with the first card. This is where a cannot be prevented negate comes in handy.

The first card you play (if any) would have to negate it. But it would be prevented, probably.

Only If the search card said something like, "interrupt the battle and search your deck for an enhancement and play it. Cannot be negated."

Final answer: No.
