ok player 1 has burial shoud up and player 2 blocks and has initiative.

player 2 plays a capture card to capture a human (not the one in battle)

does it then become a RA or does shroud prevent it from becoming a RA?

The player has no access to that soul because he cannot make a rescue attempt at all.

I thought you couldn't start battle challenges either with Burial Shroud....but other than that...I agree with Schaef.

You can start battle challenges. What you cannot do, if there is a Lost Soul available to you, is put a Hero into battle and claim it's only a battle challenge. You MUST have NO access to a Lost Soul at the time you present your first Hero.

Yeah - I would have thought that if my heroes just wanted to bash up a bunch of ECs instead of rescuing an LS then that would be fine. Why is this the way it is?

so if you generated a LS (Harvest Time, capture etc) it becomes a RA even w/ Burial S?

No - Burial Shroud stops it from becoming an RA, because it stops all rescue attempts made against the player. So you still wouldn't have "access" to the lost soul, since BS is stopping you.

YOu can generate a LS via the battle and have it protected from rescue by someone who has Shroud up, but if you have shroud up and there is a legal LS to rescue, then Shroud prevents you from even making a Battle Challenge, because if a legal LS is eligible, it would be a Rescue Attempt ( which Shroud Prevents)

You can't begin a battle if a Lost Soul is accessible to you.
If you are already in a battle challenge and bring a Lost Soul into your sights, you do not gain access to it.
That is all.

what if i play destruction or create a side battle make a lost soul and play some art negate and discard. Then?

If it is Negated, and a LS is available, then it becomes a RA.
