Title: Noobie Questions
Post by: 4sonman on November 29, 2012, 10:35:11 PM
I know that "any means any" and "all means all"  What about characters like Simeon (Warriors):

Simeon (Wa)

Type: Hero Char. • Brigade: Yellow • Ability: 7 / 6 • Class: None • Special Ability: Hero may band to any good prophet.

Does "any" here mean he can band to an unlimited number of good prophets at the same time, or just one of "any" good prophets available.  Prophet in his SA is singular, but" any" can be plural, I'm confused.

Also, Is there a forum or thread anywhere for new player questions?  I come up with 3-5 new ones every time I play...

Thank you.

Any is singular in all cases.

YMT has answered correctly. And you've found the correct place to ask your questions. Welcome to the message boards!

It's not so much that "any" is singular as that "Prophet" is singular. "Any prophet" means any one prophet, "any prophets (usually followed by "that holder chooses")" would mean multiple prophets.

Is there an example of "any" not being singular in Redemption?

Not sure, but there are probably some "any Xs Holder Chooses." Whether it's singular or plural has nothing to do with the adjective, just whether the noun is plural or singular.

That's what I am getting at. Is there any specific example of a Redemption card that uses "any" followed by a plural noun?

Not sure, but there are probably some. It's moot either way.
