Title: noob question - 1/1 king plays hunger... initiative never transfers...
Post by: southpawami on January 09, 2010, 04:36:00 PM

noob question - 1/1 king plays hunger... initiative never transfers... the opponent in battle never gets near a 1 in strength or toughness, but his guys in his territory drop like flies... can he play an interrupt?

Nope. Only if he has initiative in battle.

Nope. You can only play an interrupt when you are given initiative in battle, either by numbers, or by special ability. So if my 10/10 hero goes out and your 1/1 king blocks and plays Hunger, my guy in battle is still winning, but all of my other heroes are dying (assuming their toughness is 6 or less). The heroes in territory aren't discarded until the end of the battle though, so if the hero in battle ever does get initiative and has a card to negate Hunger, the other heroes would survive.

EDIT: Instaposted. I guess I'm not faster than lightning. Or ninjas. Or at least not the combination of the two.

So... that means... that if I used Crown of Thorns artifact to decrease evil characters by /3, then all my panic demons would go from 2/4 to 2/1 for high initiative?  So then one of them could do something like that in most cases?

That is correct.
