If I use Worshipping Demons to protect Lost souls from rescue and also end the battle, and my opponent
banishes uses his YWR to begin a new battle, is it a completely new battle phase or just a new battle during the same battle phase? In other words, when YWR begins a new battle, are the souls still protected from rescue (if it’s still the same battle phase but just a new battle), or is it an entirely new battle phase so the souls are now rescuable?

Well because you used an end the battle card. You will remain does not get banished. It's a new battle so the Lost souls are not protected anymore.

The latter. Grapes of Wrath established precedent.

Clarifications:
All End the Battle effects effectively have cannot be interrupted status because the effect is used in the battle phase and causes the battle phase to end.
Battle phase:
... Each battle takes place in a separate battle phase.

Depends. Belshazzar's Banquet, for example, says "Protect all Lost Souls from rescue by a Hero this turn". If BB was used, then it doesn't matter how many new battle phases YWR makes, no Hero is ever going to be able to rescue a LS.
Worshipping Demons has no "this turn" duration. So a new battle = a new battle phase, and thus LS are no longer protected.
*Also, just to make sure no one misunderstands what Worshipping Demons does - there has to be an Evil Altar or Idol active to get the LS protection. The end the battle ability and CBN always apply though.

Well if you used belshazzar's banquet your opponent could still use you will remain and add a hero to battle and then possibly stop banquet.

Bel's Banquet doesn't remove any Heroes from battle so it would not trigger YWR.
