In an effort to clean up the various stickies, and 3 post threads, I have started, and will attempt to maintain this new FAQ thread. Please PM me with any threads/questions that you feel should be added here.

These questions are in no particular order for now, however, once I feel I've compiled a majority of the important ones, I'll start to organize them into categories.

Q1) If a Hopper Lost Soul is drawn while the Fight by the Numbers Lost Soul is in play, where does the Hopper go?

A1) The Hopper Lost Soul will be placed into your own territory if it is drawn after the FbtN soul has been in play for a round

Original Thread

Q2) Does Priestly Breastplate require an artifact activation of it's own, or does it's ability function ala Magic Charms?

A2) Because of the way Priestly Breastplate is worded, it does eat up your artifact activation portion of your Preparation phase, you cannot activate it, place it on a priest, and then activate a second artifact on your pile.

Original Thread

Q3) Does blanket 'Protection from Evil cards' prevent you from dying by the numbers to a larger Evil Character?

A3) Yes - Blanket Protection protects the hero from all aspects of the Evil cards it is protecting from.

Original Thread

Q4) How does Dominant 'Slap Jack' work?

A4) The 'Right' to play a Dominant follows the player who made the last game action in regards to contested plays. There is no intrinsic 'right' or 'initiative to play a dominant otherwise. This only applies in regards to ties, and is at the discretion of the Judge as to how long is too long between actions.

Original Thread

Q5) How do Territory Class enhancements work?

A5) Territory Class Enhancements can be played during your preparation or discard phase on a character of matching brigade in your territory. Like healing Enhancements, they give their effect immediately and are immediately discarded. Alternatively, they can be played in battle; as a normal enhancement, obeying the rules of initiative.

Original Thread

Q6) If Saul/Paul is converted by a normal convert (like Holy Grail) does he become Paul?

A6) Yes. Anytime Saul/Paul (as Saul) is converted, he becomes the Hero Paul. It doesn't matter if the conversion card specifies a brigade (i.e. a card that says convert an EC to Green still makes Saul into Paul). If Saul is converted, he is Paul no matter what.
Also, keep in mind that if Paul is converted to an Evil Character, he is still Paul, and if an evil Paul is converted back to a Hero, he is now the single-color Hero Paul (whatever color the convert specified). Paul only becomes Saul again if he is returned to hand, draw pile or discard pile.

Q7) If I play an ignore card in battle, are the ignored characters kicked out of battle?

A7) No. The only situations that can kick cards out of battle are withdraw/return/exchange abilities (like Complainers or Herod's Treachery) or negating a band (King of Tyrus blocking Claudia and Thomas for example). Ignore only makes it as if the ignored character isn't really opposing the ignoring character. So if I attack you, you block me, and I ignore you, then you now have infinite initiative to play anything you want, you just can't affect any cards ignoring you. So if just my hero in battle is ignoring you, than you can affect my deck, your deck, any territory, etc. You just can't affect my hero in any way. As the ignoring character, I never have initiative (unless my ignore is interrupted, or a non-ignored character enters battle and is beating me) because I am always winning.

Q8) If I play Angel of the Lord on your only Evil Character in battle, do I get a Lost Soul right away?

A8) No. In order to win a Lost Soul in battle, your Hero has to survive (so your opponent could use Christian Martyr/Unholy Writ/Magic Charms), no abilities can be used that restrict your ability to rescue a Lost Soul (like Uzzah/Death of Unrighteous/Burial), and your opponent must be unwilling or unable to add a new Evil Character to battle (with Unknown Nation, Gates of Hell, Madness, etc.). So a lot can happen after Angel of the Lord is played, the one thing that cannot happen is your opponent adding a new Evil Character without using an add to battle ability.

Q9) If I'm using a Saint of Virtue that is owned by my sister, even if I'm a guy, can it count as a female? It says owner's gender.

A9) No. Owner in Redemption means the player from whose deck the card originated. It has nothing to do with actual, legal ownership.

Q10) Why aren't cards like Trumpet Blast, Sound the Alarm, Seventh Trumpet, etc. considered to involve music, while cards like Protection of Angels and Bow and Arrow are?

A10) The first part, as to why the Trumpet cards aren't musical, is that their main purpose was as alarms/signals, not for any kind of music. The second part, as to why cards like Bow and Arrow and Protection of Angels are musical, is that they come from either the Psalms or Biblical songs (the Song of the Bow is the name of the source of Bow and Arrow I believe).

Q11) How do Negates work in regards to cost/benefit abilities that include removing the targeting card while granting special initiative?

A11) "Cards that cause special initiative (and are not CBN) can be negated by any negate, regardless of card type" Thus, a card that removes itself from battle as a cost to remove a hero, can still be negated by any general purpose negate. Additionally, if Unholy Writ is used to capture a hero in battle that results in a loss of that battle, the hero can respond with a negate that targets Unholy Writ.

Q12) How does 'Defeated' work. Also, how do wins work?

A12) A character is considered 'Defeated' when he or she does not achieve their goal in battle (Rescue a lost soul, Block a rescue) In regards to Potiphar's Wife - Because of the unique wording on Potiphar's Wife, she cannot capture a character unless she actually causes the failure. So playing Christian Martyr while she is in battle, while resulting in a Defeat for the Hero, does not trigger her ability. 'Wins' are evaluated on a individual basis for the sake of cards like Tartaros, but as a side in regards to the rescue of a soul (I.E. if you have 5 Heroes in battle you still only rescue one soul, however 5 Demons could be released from Tartaros if 5 Demons block a rescue together)

Q13) Can you use one copy of Highway to return another copy of Highway to your hand?

A13) No - Highway and other return all enhancement cards have specific errata that only allows them to return the enhancements if no character remains on your side of the battle after they complete. So while you could return a previously played and negated Highway, there is no way to return an active one.

Q14) Can you have both Herod's Temple, and Solomon's Temple in play at the same time?

A14) No. Because the various Temple's represent the main house of worship during various biblical times, they are all considered to be the same unique fortress for game play purposes.

Q15) If I use a search ability for a specific card, or card type, do I have to reveal the card that I searched for?

A15) Yes - Anytime a specific search ability is used, you must show the card that you searched for, in order to prevent cheating/deception.
