Placement in Side Battles

They rescue, I block with King Rehoboam. I choose my own territory. Can I bring Eliashama in first, place Sword of the Lord onto a Green hero, and then fight that green hero, causing Sword of the Lord to activate?

You can only have one side battle per turn per player, so even if the answer is "yes, you can place an enhancement on the second hero before it enters the side battle" (I'm not sure the answer to this question), it couldn't be a side battle card.

My opponent would be using the side battle, since he'd be in control of that side, correct?

By choosing to use Eliashama himself, he's forcing his opponent to control the green hero, so they're starting the second side battle, not him.

Well, your opponent would get to pick the ECs for that battle, then, since they control the side battle ability.

Even though your opponent is in control of the hero with the placed card on him, he is NOT in control of the placed card itself. When the placed card activates on the hero in battle its owner carries out the ability aka The Player who placed it. :)

Although, this is a fantastic idea. While it doesn't do what you wanted it to do, it's almost better that way. Every block, place Zeal or something and pwn territory. Better yet, Elishama place Love at First Sight, if you have Gifts it's D8 and either way, your opponent doesn't have the hand he was attacking with anymore.

Because then you could place ANB on the hero your opponent uses when you have Nazareth and Rain Becomes Dust in play...  If they control the enhancement, then they basically lose.

You retain control over your placed Enhancements after you place them, even if someone else gets control of the card you placed it on. Otherwise, people could band to your Herod and use his Treachery against you.
