Title: Musical inconsistency
Post by: juhnkect on September 08, 2010, 02:03:50 PM
Why are none of the cards that deal with trumpets considered as involving music?

Why is bow an arrow or some of those covenants considered as involving music and not sound the alarm? or any of the 7 trumpets?

This is why we need an FAQ thread.

Bow and Arrow is considered connected to music because the verse (2 Sam. 1:18) uses it in reference to a "lament of the bow" (NIV), not in a military reference.

The trumpets are considered used as alarms or alerts, rather than for musical purposes. I suspect the real reason is so that Trumpet Blast and Seventh Trumpet don't get used by musicians out of Musician's Chambers. I've lost this argument in the past, so I don't expect it to change. (But, as I'm working on a musicians deck, I would love to see it happen!)

Aw Bummer...

Me too! That's exactly what the musicians need. A 7th trumpet, Trumpet Blast, Battle Cry.. something!

Good call. Maybe if I resurrect my thread and add this question, it will get noticed and stickied.
