Lydia (h) can play purple enhancements. When I play Reach of Desperation ( you may interrupt the battle, draw three cards and play the next enhancement) does that negate the card? I understand that the next enhancement has to be white because her SA has been interrupted, but could I play reach, then words of Encouragement, then another white enhancement such as "no need for spices"? or does the interrupt on reach basically negate the drawing because it interrupts her ability to play purple?
I know she can play it, I just don't know if it does anything is my real question. My suspicion is that it does work. She was able to play purple when it was played, the enhacement SA then takes over and interrupts her ability to play purple (Which is where I get confused because I can see it either way. A) the enhancement works or B) the enhancement cannot work because her SA is interrupted and it just sits there).
how does this card play?
-
I think that you can play Reach but then you can only play a white card next
-
A. It does interrupts her ability, but since the enhancement was already in play, it can still complete.

Thats what I thought. and the next enhancement has to be a white (or multicolored enhancement with white in it) for her to be able to play it since her SA is still interrupted until after she plays the next enhancement.
-
Correct, as her ability to play a purple enhancement is now interrupted.
-
Also keep in mind that the interrupt part of RoD is optional so unless you need to interrupt you can just choose to D3+play next and still use purple.

Yeah, I was keeping that on the back burner if I needed it, but usually, reach is best saved to interrupt an evil battle winner. But of course it doesnt have to be used that way, if you were simply passed initiative via numbers.

ok wait so i can actually use lydia play reach and do aocp
-
If you interrupt the battle, she cannot use purple. However, if you just D3 and play, then yes, you can play purple.
-
ok the does the same option on whether or not to interrupt the battle apply to all itb cards

Only if it says "may". If it just says "Interrupt the battle" then it is not optional.

which means
lydia + reach + acib = ownage in the et and aocp calibur
