Can the son of god rescue the lost souls card or do you need new jerusalem too? If so and somebody else has already rescued it once do they get a nother lost soul or are they just out of luck?
-
the lost souls card must be rescued twice. the Son of God card can rescue half but you still need to rescue the other half. if you play SoG and NJ then yes you can rescue both halves. if your opponent already has 1 half rescued and you play SoG then you both get a redeemed soul because each of you has rescued a half ^_^

depending on whether it's the Two-Liner or the Three-Liner it can/can't be rescued in halves.

I would think that both of you would need to rescue it twice, so, for example, if your opponent already rescued one half and you rescued both halves, then you would get the card and the two lost souls.

That is not how it works though. The 3-liner says it must be rescued twice by the same player to count. Once a player has rescued half of it, only that player can rescue the other half.
The 2-liner can be rescued by anybody at any time, even after it has been rescued once. This is because it doesn't have the third line of the ability (where they both get their nicknames) that says: "Must be rescued twice by the same player to count."

ok so once someone rescues it once then that person is the only one who can rescue it again? on the three liner that is.
