Had a couple of debated plays in a recent game:
1. Can a protect ability on a character protect characters of opposite alignment if it does not specify alignment?
Context: I have Rapha of Gath in territory. The relevant part of Rapha's (T-class) ability is "Protect Philistines in territory from opponents." Opponent converts Rapha to a Hero during battle. Rapha is now in my territory as a Hero. Since his ability does not specify "Evil Philistines", I hold that he continues to protect the Evil Philistines in my territory from opponent. Opponent disagrees; argues that he should not be able to protect characters of opposite alignment.
2. Can one unique character enter two completely separate battles on the same turn?
Clarification: I know that a unique character cannot re-enter a battle after leaving it (withdraw, for example). My question amounts to: does that restriction apply to that battle, that battle phase, or that turn?
Context: I have You Will Remain (If opponent uses an evil "End the Battle" ability, you may begin a new battle. If opponent removes your last Hero from battle, you may banish this card to add a new Hero to battle). I rescue with Twenty-Four Elders (Shuffle an artifact from your hand or artifact pile to negate evil cards. May band to Four Living Creatures. Cannot be negated if the Heavenly Temple is in play). I shuffle an artifact (not YWR) and band to Four Living Creatures. Opponent gains numbers initiative and plays a CBN "End the Battle" for a stalemate. I would like to use YWR to begin a new battle with Twenty-Four Elders. Opponent cites the "can't enter battle twice" rule and vigorously asserts that it applies to the entire turn, not just the individual battle. I am unable to find this specific rule in writing to verify the wording.
Who is right in these cases?
