Question about Ignore
« on: May 10, 2018, 11:28:26 AM »

I am a little confused about IGNORE.

The way I understood ignore was that if your hero is ignoring a defense, then it was pretty much an automatic win (you waltz right in and rescue a soul), because you are operating as if the defense does not exist.

Then, later I found out evil characters can also IGNORE, which does not make sense to me. How can a character BLOCK another character if he is ignoring it?

Also, how do you assign damage from the EC to the hero if you are ignoring him/her?

Thanks

4 Characters already in battle and ignored are treated as though they were not in battle for purposes of determining battle outcome, regardless of whether all opposing characters are ignoring the characters

-From the REG

No damage is being done to the hero because it's being ignored, so the hero would return to territory after battle.

So, yes, there are ECs that IGNORE, so my question is how do they BLOCK if they are ignoring?

Are they dealing damage to the hero?

Thanks

Duh. Forgot about Red Dragon.

So they are still blocking the hero, the EC just can’t be harmed by the hero unless the hero negates the ignore ability. The rescuer would have unlimited initiative to play cards. If the hero doesn’t negate the ignore ability and let’s the battle end as-is, then it ends in a stalemate.

They are not dealing damage to the Hero(es).

For example, if a 4/4 humanangel Hero attacks and Red Dragon blocks (ignoring the human angel Hero) and the battle ends, the 4/4 Hero returns to territory (instead of being discarded) because Red Dragon ignored the Hero.

I think you meant to say an angel. Red Dragon would still defeat the human because he’s only protected from humans.

So, it sounds like withdrawal to me.
(the EC is causing the hero to withdraw?)
(Isnt that what repel is?)
Thanks

Repel is old language for ignore.

Watchman,
So regarding human heroes, Red Dragon is not ignoring them, so he is still doing damage to them, right?
Thanks

That’s correct. Protect simply means nothing the hero can do (numbers or abilities used against RD) can harm RD, but he can harm the hero by numbers and abilities.
