Title: Is Death of Firstborn an ignore?
Post by: Noah on March 11, 2011, 12:08:19 PM
Are cards like Lion Dweling with the Calf and Death of Firstborn considerd to be ignores? in other words can I use cards like Scribe or Golgotha to nagate or protect from them?

Death of Firstborn (Pa)
Type: Hero Enh. • Brigade: Silver • Ability: 2 / 2 • Class: None • Special Ability: Immunity on all characters is negated. Blocking Evil Character refuses to block. Opponent must present a new blocker or rescue attempt is successful. • Play As: Negate immunity on all characters for the remainder of battle. Return one blocking Evil Character to owner's territory. If this ability causes an Evil Character to leave battle, opponent may add to battle a new blocker. • Identifiers: OT, Based on Prophecy, Plague • Verse: Exodus 12:29 • Availability: Patriarchs booster packs (Rare)

Lion Dwelling with the Calf (Pr)

While it would seem that they are "return" abilities, I can't find an REG entry for that.

The play as for both of them says return.

Why are these play as not consistent?  Why does one allow you to add a new blocker if there is no evil character in battle and the other if an evil character is forced out (even if there is still one in battle)?

P.S.  I wish we could play these cards as written.  I know that they consider the part about it being a successful rescue attempt to merely be clarifying text but it doesn't naturally read like that.  What problems would there be if it was played as written?  I just like it when cards actually do what they say.
