Cherubim to Aaron to Moses
Who gets kicked?
Does Assyrian camp protect a horses on an assyrian?
-
Aaron.
Nope.
-
Situation:
Eli to Sam to David RA's with HHI and Iron Pan active.
ASA blocks and discards Iron Pan. What happens?
-
EDIT:
Never mind Sam shouldn't have ever been able to enter becasue Eli's band is being prevented.

It's actually being ignored, but you're correct, Samuel wouldn't be able to enter battle.

Actually, Household Idols both prevents AND ignores good banding. So I think his question was meant to be, what would happen if a CBN/P band entered battle with Iron Pan and Household Idols both up, so Pan is negating the ignore ability, and then Iron pan gets negated.
-
Removing Eli from the equation for a moment. If it were just Sam to David, then David would go from having effect on the battle to having effect on the battle after Pan becomes negated. Or at least that's my understanding of how HHI's ignore ability would work.

Did you mean the to put "no effect" in the second part of the underlined section?
There is nothing that is granted the "ignoring" status, so I would think that it is correct that David would not have effect (numbers-wise) on the battle.
From the REG:
characters already in battle and ignored are treated as though they were not in battle for purposes of determining battle outcome
-
::) Yes I meant to say "no effect" thanks for fixing that.

Actually, David would count in the battle, while Sam wouldn't: Sam is the banding card, not David.
Also, would HHI be able to ignore Sam if Pan is negated mid-battle, or does it only activate and check during the Prep phase, meaning it wouldn't ignore Sam until the next turn?

Correct. Whole lot of mix-ups in our posts, that's what was meant.

Ignore has different effects based on where a card is, if it is in battle or out (though that is under a little discussion ;)). If Pan were negated mid-battle, Sam should have no effect on the outcome as per the Ignore rules, but nothing would be immune to him (as they are not "ignoring" him).

So HHI constantly triggers? My question is, Artifacts are activated during the prep phase. HHI was negated when it was activated. Does it then get to activate during battle if the negating card, Iron Pan, is negated and discarded, or does it have to wait til its next prep phase or even just to the end of the battle phase before it activates again?

HHI is an example of an ongoing prevent. It does not have an 'instant' ability that triggers once per turn, like most artifacts. It's the same as cards like Covenant with Phinehas. It protects all the time, not just during the prep phase.
