Title: Immunity question
Post by: The Guardian on August 19, 2009, 03:52:37 AM
King Hezekiah (9/11, Immune to Philistines) rescues. Goliath blocks. King Hezekiah plays a 3/3 enhancement for numbers. Goliath plays Goliath's Spear (3/2 Kings version). King Hezekiah passes. Goliath plays Babel and bands in Abaddon the Destroyer (10/10). Neither player can play anymore. Do the numbers on the enhancements played on Goliath get added to Abaddon and would thereby kill King Hez?

When resolving a battle involving immunity with banding, follow these steps:

1.  Before you look at immune abilities, see which characters would be discarded in the battle simply by the abilities (numbers) there.  If it would be a stalemate, then the immunity does not affect the battle resolution.  If the Heroes would be discarded, all Heroes in battle without immune ability will be discarded at the end of the battle (i.e., only do step 2 below).  If the Evil Characters would be discarded, all Evil Characters in battle without immune ability will be discarded at the end of the battle (i.e., only do step 3 below).  If it is mutual destruction, all characters in battle without immunity will be discarded at the end of the battle (i.e., do step 2 and 3 below).

2.  If a Hero is immune to an opposing card in battle, then recalculate the strength (*/) of the opposing forces WITHOUT the strength (*/) numbers that the Hero is immune to.  Compare that against ALL the defense points of the Heroes.  If the opposing forces do not have enough strength (*/) to defeat all the Heroes, then the immune character survives.

3.  If an Evil Character is immune to an opposing card in battle, then recalculate the strength (*/) of the opposing forces WITHOUT the strength (*/) numbers that the Evil Character is immune to.  Compare that against ALL the defense points of the Evil Characters.  If the opposing forces do not have enough strength (*/) to defeat all the Evil Characters, then the immune character survives.

Basically, is the Hero immune to enhancements played on a character to which he is immune if there is also another EC of the same brigade in battle to which the Hero is not immune?

Hey,

Do the numbers on the enhancements played on Goliath get added to Abaddon and would thereby kill King Hez?

The numbers on the enhancements played on Goliath get added to Goliath.  Since King Hezekiah is immune to Goliath he is immune to the enhancements played on him as well (including the numbers on those enhancements).  Abaddon is still only 10/10 so he would not be killing King Hezekiah.

What if babel was played before Goliath's Spear

Hey,

What if babel was played before Goliath's Spear

Every enhancement is played on a specific character.  If you play Babel before Goliath's Spear then when you play Goliath's Spear you have a choice of which evil character you play it on.  If you play Goliath's Spear on Abaddon you would then kill King Hezekiah.  If you choose to play Goliath's Spear on Goliath you would not kill King Hezekiah.
