Title: If blocking...
Post by: Sean on December 04, 2020, 07:07:24 PM
For evil characters that say, "If blocking..." Does this go for their entire special ability or does it only refer to the part following the qualifier?

Take Rabshakeh for example.  Can you take from Reserve when taunting?  I ask because the instead sentence stands alone rather than being in parenthesis or used with a comma or conjunction.  I would think that you can take from reserve when taunting because that is separate from the "if blocking..." qualifier but want to make sure I'm reading this correctly.

That's correct.

Generally speaking, unless a sentence refers to a previous sentence ("if you do (not)", a reference to "it" that needs a target from a previous sentence, anything with a self-instead, etc.) it stands alone.
