Title: How does this work?
Post by: Red Wing on October 13, 2011, 12:28:16 PM
I make a rescue attempt with Ashael and I choose Babylonian Forces to block. Since Bab forces negates Special Abilities on red heroes, does my opponent get to block with a different EC?

Babylonian Forces (Pi)

Type: Evil Char. • Brigade: Crimson • Ability: 9 / 7 • Class: Warrior • Special Ability: Negate all special abilities on Red brigade Heroes. You may search draw pile for Headquarters at Riblah and put it in play. • Play As: Negate all special abilities on red brigade Heroes. You may search your deck for Headquarters at Riblah and place it in play. • Identifiers: Generic OT Male Human, Babylonia, Fought Earthly Battle • Verse: II Kings 25:1 • Availability: Priests booster packs (Common)

Asahel (TP)

Type: Hero Char. • Brigade: Red • Ability: 5 / 4 • Class: Warrior • Special Ability: May band to an O.T. warrior class human Hero or may choose opponent's male human Evil Character to block. Protect Asahel from withdraw and return abilities. • Play As: May band to an O.T. warrior class human Hero or may choose opponent's male human Evil Character to block [choose opponent]. Protect Asahel from withdraw and return abilities. • Identifiers: OT Male Human, Fought Earthly Battle • Verse: II Samuel 2:18 • Availability: Thesaurus ex Preteritus booster packs ()

he already had an EC enter battle this turn and there's no ability that is letting him choose a new blocker.

CTB is effectively CBI.  So you could use Ehud to choose KoT, and that'd be that.

Correction, you could use the Ehud from Rock of Ages to choose KoT, but the one from patriarchs can only choose a human.

nitpicking aside, I CTB being effectively CBI is what I've been taught too (how I was "taught" is someone did choose my KoT with Ehud when I didn't know they could do that)

Everyone is correct with one caveat. Pre-block CTB is CBI. If you attack with Joseph, get blocked by someone, then play Obedience of Noah, they can negate it.
