since the change in how ignore works, how does household idols work in regards to ignoring heroes with banding abilities? If you start a rescue attempt from hand with a banding hero, how does that work? He is ignored before an evil character even enters battle. does he have to then somehow negate HHI or return to territory?
-
Abilities complete then for purposes of battle resolution the ignored characters are considered not in battle

Sounds right to me.
-
so can an evil character still block? im assuming the hero cannot rescue a lost soul, but he is still in the field of battle.
-
Well, if there are no Heroes left in battle after Idols bounces that Hero back, then no, a blocker cannot still be presented. The characters on one side of the battle have been removed, so the battle is over.
An ignored Character is treated as if they were not in battle. They were in battle, but after Idols resolves, they aren't anymore.
-
Ignore is not withdraw. Ignored characters are treated as if they were not in battle, not kicked out of battle.
An EC should be able to block, I believe, but the hero gets init because he's being ignored.
-
Aggie is correct.
-
......sigh...
Alright. I guess I get it.
It's confusing to me that an Evil Character can block a Hero that is in all other ways being treated as if it were not in the Field of Battle at all- which on paper makes about as much logical sense as blocking a Hero in an opponent's Territory.
But I guess technically the Hero is physically in the Field of Battle, it just... has no effect on the battle...
The Hero still can't rescue anything without negating HHI, so blocking may well not be necessary. But it seems that if the opponent wanted to, they could.
Forgive me for finding that confusing.
-
so then could the hero enter battle, play something to negate HHI, then an EC block? or would the EC have to block before the hero could play anything. could the hero play enhancements other than negates with being ignored with no EC in battle?
-
This came up yesterday and is similar to three nails. What is actually ignoring the characters? Is it the artifact? Three nails errata on redemption wiki says heroes in battle ignore.
Seems more like it's a restrict on both sides to me. Neither are listed on the official errata page. Knowing that currently both would be ruled as ignore, that it's a very interesting comment about the ignored character in battle having initiative. Seems it could end up being quite devastating. Almost even advantageous..
So could I go in with Barnabas from hand with my own house hold idols up, have infinite initiative to play enhancements, then play word of Christ, Faith of Moses, any number of rescue a soul enhancements, or destruction to negate it for the rescue?
On a side note, provisions+lions+Faith of Enoch.. What a freebie!

This is one of the most confusing cards/abilities in the game. Questions about it are constantly arising, which tells me that something needs to be done with this card (perhaps more than an errata)...

The opponent would need to block for the rescuing hero to be able to place enhancements; if the opponent declines to block the battle just resolves with your hero going back to territory. As for that "combo", I'm pretty sure the opponent gets to choose the target for lions and besides that FoE requires an opponent's special ability to being doing the discard to trigger.

I think both should be erratted to be restrict abilities. makes the game a lot easier with how ignore works now

+1

Yeah, that's definitely not a freebie ;) Faith of Enoch says "Opponent's evil discard ability". You are dependent on them having a card with an evil discard ability.
Faith of Enoch is a terrific Astrologers counter though :P
-
It's opponent's defined as own and control? I thought it was only one they controlled.
Still no answer about the infinite initiative while not being truly ignored
-
hmm... maybe ignore has to be changed that Opponent must interrupt or negate the card ignoring, otherwise it can't harm anything (Characters or Enhancements) in battle or in any LoB.
