Does Household Idols work the same way with the updated ignore rules?
-
Not quite. A banding Hero can now attack if played into battle directly from hand even if HHI is active. If the Hero has a CBP or CBN band ability (i.e. Daniel promo) then the Hero can band. However, the Hero is ignored for the duration of the battle unless HHI is negated during the course of the battle. If the Hero cannot/does not band, then the opponent would not need to present a blocker since an ignored character cannot win a battle to rescue a soul.
I feel like there was one other aspect I'm forgetting, but I'm not sure...

How interesting...

So with this Daniel (P) can band to one of the 3 amigos but they are all still ignored, but if he bands to one of the Angels, Dan is ignored but the angel is good?

Correct. Note that if the amigos were already in play they would be ignored by HHI and be invalid targets for Daniel to band in. However, you could theoretically band them all in from hand and have 4 ignored Heroes in battle.

couldn't any banding hero still band and be ignored without the other being ignored?
why does cbp or cbn band work but not other banding heroes if played from hand?

Because this is what HHI does.
Prevent all abilities that allow Heroes to band. Ignore Heroes with band abilities.
