If I play Grain Offering in the prep phase with Alter of Burnt Offering. can the Immunity be interrupted/negated?
-
Hey,
It could be negated by Unsuccessful is used as an artifact. Generally speaking it can be negated, but only during the preparation phase, and there are few negates that can be used during that phase. Of course the fact that the immunity only lasts until the end of the preparation phase means that you don't generally need to negate it because the ability would end before it does anything useful.

Unsuccessful:
Negate the last good Enhancement played in battle (may be used once).
Grain Offering:
All Heroes in play are immune to selected evil brigade this turn.
Unsuccessful won't work, and the phrase "this turn" trumps the default of only lasting for the current phase.

Wow, I fail miserably at reading cards. I even opened up Grain Offering and looked at it and still didn't notice the "this turn". So yeah, I loose.

King of Tyrus:
Type: Evil Char. • Brigade: Orange • Ability: 10 / 12 • Special Ability: Negate all special abilities on Characters and Enhancements (except this special ability).
I assume the default target is "in play" but I would still like to ask whether or not this could negate it from the d/c pile.
-
Abilities activated in a previous phase cannot be negated anyway.
-
Ah, I didn't know that. I'm learning new things every day. ;D

K then ITB as you thought can't hit it :-p

I don't know why people are trying to negate this. Just play one of those "Regardless of Immunity" cards. Like the one that says "regardless of immunity, tear your opponent's hero into thirds to remove three non-human cards from the game." Since it's rarely used, I can't remember what the name of that card is right now.

um... I don't think it goes quite like that... if you're speaking of Haman's Plot, which isn't rarely used, then you: "Tear this card to discard up to three characters. Cannot be negated."
-
I think he might have been joking, but... I'm not sure. :P
-
Yes, I might have.
I just couldn't pass up an opportunity to poke fun at the regardless ability. Why bother trying to negate when you can have regardless and do whatever you want anyway? Of course there are no regardless cards for the evil side which seems unfair so I decided to use my imaginary card and that might as well also have an ability similar to Haman's Plot since that is everyone's favorite card (sarcasm).

Bump, So This combo is CBN immunity?
Yes. Confirmed in private PMs with both Bryon and The Schaef prior to Nats 2007.
