Can cards like First Fruits, Pentecost, etc be played during battle? For example, a 1/1 Priest is blocked by Red Dragon, and I can't get pat the immunity. Can I now play Pentecost to set that hero and all my others aside, and thus stop my hero from dying? (I know that they don't interrupt the battle,I just want to see if they can be played during battle.)
Thanks.

if you have initive by numbers yes if your dying by sa i don't think so

Yes, they can be played just like regular enhancements. I sometimes do this to save my heroes if my Reach Of Desperation doesn't get my an AOCP or some such battle winner.

The above is true, however they cannot be used to interrupt the battle. They may only be played with regular inish.

Why wouldn't a Reach of Desperation and Pentecost combo work?

Reach+Pentecost does work. I think Kittens was just saying that if my opponent plays a capture I can't just play Pentecost to save my hero, I either need normal initiative or an interrupt during special initiative.
