Title: Golgotha vs TGT stuff
Post by: Korunks on October 16, 2010, 06:26:29 PM
Scenario:
(My opponent has 1 Lost soul, and I have TGT out)

I RA with Salome(RoA)

My Opponent places a crimson EE on Golgotha, and blocks with their only EC Judas Iscariot.

I play Destruction of Babylon to destroy Golgotha, Is Judas now ignored?

I would say no, because discard does not negate. but in the case of sites and circumstances as such are these, that may not be the case. Good question though, since i play with both i am curious as to the certain answer

I am curious because Golgotha's ability only works while the EE remains on it.  If it is discarded, is the EE counted as remaining?

Well, the EE wouldn't be discarded, so the question is where does the EE go and when does it go there?

Destruction of Babylon (Ki)
Type: Hero Enh. • Brigade: White • Ability: 4 / 1 • Class: None • Special Ability: Discard a single color Lost Soul Site, and all evil cards guarding it. Lost Soul(s) remains in play. • Identifiers: OT, Based on Prophecy • Verse: Jeremiah 51:44 • Availability: Kings booster packs (Uncommon)

edit-- this is why you always pair golgotha with CP

the ee would be discarded with golgotha. golgotha only works while the ee remains.

why is the EE discarded? what if the EE came from your hand?

Golgotha (Di)
Type: Site • Brigade: White • Ability: None • Class: None • Special Ability: Anytime during battle, you may place a skull icon card from hand or discard pile on Golgotha: N.T. characters of that brigade cannot be ignored. Return that card to its previous location at end of turn. • Identifiers: Jew • Verse: Matthew 27:33 • Availability: Disciples booster packs ()

because cards (except lost souls) on/in sites/forts/etc follow the sites/forts/etc when its discarded.

Instant Special Abilities > Discard or Remove
Default Conditions
•      If a discard special ability does not specify a target area outside the Field of Play, then the effect of the special ability is understood to only be usable on cards “in play.”

•      If a site, artifact, or character is discarded or returned to hand, discard all cards placed on it.  If a card leaves the Land of Bondage, discard all evil cards placed on it other than Lost Souls or captured characters.

•      The following is understood when discarding a site: “If site still holds a Lost Soul, Lost Soul is returned to general Land of Bondage.  Discard any other cards in that site.”  Unless stated otherwise, holder chooses which site (occupied or unoccupied) to discard.•      “Evil cards” mentioned when discarding a site refers to cards that guard or fortify the site (see Fortify or Place).  The site does not have to have Evil Characters guarding it to be discarded.

•      The following is understood when discarding a card from hand: “discard a card from hand without using it”.

•      Cards with ongoing abilities that are not negated continue until the end of the phase in which they are discarded or removed
