Gold Shield
Type: Evil Enh. • Brigade: Gray • Ability: 0 / 5 • Class: Weapon • Special Ability: You may discard this card to convert a human Hero in play to a Hero in the brigade of your choice. • Attributes: Depicts a Weapon, Connected with David • Identifiers: OT, Depicts a Weapon, Connected with David
Because it notes "connected with David" does it mean a GC David (Kings) can hold it? If David cannot hold it then why the ref "connected with David".

Heroes cannot use Evil enhancements, and they lose their Special Abilities when converted, so no the Hero David cannot use it. You'll have to wait for someone else to explain the identifier, though as a random guess it may have something to do with Michal.
-
David's Tent could also convert the weapon, but again you have the problem that the ability is canceled out.
-
If you have gold shield on a character, then the character is converted, bands to David, and is discarded (orsomething) then it could stick to David (provided it's converted to purple.)

I have Another question regarding the conversion of a Hero to another brigade. Does that Hero lose his s/a? I understood that a Hero who is converted to an EC loses that s/a whether or not it is neutral....I think. Does this conversion fall under the same rule?
The REG seems clear this rule only follows if a Hero is converted to an EC but it doesn't directly detail this scenerio.

Hey,
A hero converted to a different good brigade does not lose it's ability.

I start a RA with Samuel, Emperor Nero "Character immune to lone heroes" I play Blessing of Joshua "Immunity on all Evil Characters is negated" He then uses Gold Shield "you may discard this card to convert a human Hero in play to a Hero in the brigade of your choice" Since he then makes me a color other than gold I'm guessing that Blessing of Joshua is just discarded.

yes, blessing of joshua has nobody left to sit on. However, it is not negated.
