Side battle question.

Say I create a side battle with David the Shepherd and Opponents rescuing hero and I have throne of David in play. David has initiative and plays battle cry banding in asahel. Can I choose an evil character to block the David band and have throne trigger? And if so since a choose the opponent ability was used would it return the hero opposing David back to territory or would it end up still in battle going for a rescue after the side battle?

I'm unsure if this is the correct answer, but my assumption is that choose the blocker would have no effect in a side battle because in a side battle there are just opposing characters, none of them are technically blockers or rescuers.

That is correct, CTB/R does nothing in side-battles.

I am not talking about T2 unless I am explicitly talking about T2. Also Mayhem is fine now somehow!
