Title: Further Poisoning Set Aside
Post by: sk on July 27, 2009, 04:09:48 AM
Instant Abilities > Poisons and Diseases > Special Conditions

Quote
A Hero targeted by a poison or disease card during battle and then set aside prior to the end of battle is infected.  Ahthough the infected Hero that is set aside stops decreasing while set aside, the effect of the infection resumes when they return to play.
How does this mesh with, say, Doctrine Like Leaven (http://www.redemptionreg.com/REG/doctrinelikeleaven.htm)?

Ordinarily, when a card supersedes a game rule, the card takes precedence (that's the whole point of giving cards special abilities). So for Doctrine Like Leaven, the character would decrease while set aside as per the card special ability.

Hey,

Sk, that quote is referring to decreases from poisons and diseases only.  It does not apply to characters that decrease from other types of abilities.  Since Doctrine Like Leaven is not a poison or disease, that sentence does not apply.

Ok, thanks.  Wasn't quite sure what the sentence was referring to.
