Title: Fought in an Earthly Battle
Post by: thestrongangel on November 24, 2008, 02:58:09 PM
If I play Armorbearer, does it mean to just band to a human hero?

Thanks,
Daniel

Nope because heroes can't band to EC and a hero who "falls" has no SA,  :-\  If it weren't for that ruling Ashpenaz would be way fun

No the hero had to have fought in an earthly battle.

But does that mean a human Hero who made a ra against an ec? or biblically speaking?

It means literally fought a battle with weapons, war and bloodshed. There is a list in the REG of who qualifies, which includes military leaders who may not have actually drawn blood.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I always thought that a good way to easily determine "fought earthly battle" is warrior class. I think there are exceptions, but you can be pretty safe with Armorbearer banding to any WC hero.

I agree that any WC hero will work, but (as you said) there are others. The REG list is the best guide to use. For anyone who uses Armorbearer, copying the list on paper to keep with you would be wise.

yes it has to be earthly battle you would have more luck using a king and saying he fought in a earthly battle

Not all kings have fought in an earthly battle -- King Tut comes to mind, but I'm sure there were others. The REG is the most reliable source for a comprehensive list.

The one exception to "any warrior class Hero" is Soldier of God.  I don't believe he's on that list.

We were talking about "earthly battles," so angels don't count anyway.
