Title: Face-down artifacts are “in play” right?

If I have a card (such as Table of Demons) that triggers off a specific type of artifact being “in play”, if that type of artifact is face-down in my artifact pile, my ability would still trigger, right?

Face-down Artifacts are in play, but while face down they only register as "Artifacts", not any of their specific identifiers.

So does that mean an idol would have to be active for ToD to trigger?
