Title: Early Church Errata questions
Post by: Lamborghini_diablo on August 20, 2014, 02:51:04 PM
Hey guys, over in this thread (http://www.cactusgamedesign.com/message_boards/redemption-card-play/early-church-phase-1-2nd-print-changes/) it was mentioned that some cards from Phase 1, Print 1 would be errata'd to match Print 2, but others would not. I posted about four additional cards that nobody has mentioned yet, and I have yet to hear anything on the subject.

Are the following Print 1 cards going to receive errata, or will they play as printed?

Angel of Deliverance:
      Print 1: Generic identifier
      Print 2: Unique identifier
Why this matters: Obvious reasons in type 2, plus I dislike inconsistent identifiers between cards.

Gentleness:
Print 1: "Place on your clay or red Hero: While that Hero is in battle, protect N.T. humans from discard abilities. Negate play abilities."
Print 2: "Place on your clay or red Hero: While that Hero is in battle, protect N.T. humans from discard abilities and negate play abilities."
Why this matters: The change may be very small, but it makes a big difference in how the card functions. Print 1 provides constant negation of play abilities, even during your opponent's turn.

Reassuring Angels:
      Print 1: Generic identifier
      Print 2: Unique identifier
Why this matters: Obvious reasons in type 2, plus I dislike inconsistent identifiers between cards.

Stephen
Print 1: "Reveal opponent’s hand. Shuffle all evil dominants except Christian Martyr into opponent’s deck. Acts Enhancements cannot be negated."
Print 2: "Reveal opponent’s hand and shuffle all evil dominants except Christian Martyr into opponent’s deck. Acts Enhancements cannot be negated."
Why this matters: It sounds to me like Print 1 would not target evil dominants in the opponent's hand.

Is there at least a discussion about these cards on the other side of the boards?

Correct me if I'm wrong but as Gentleness is currently worded (Print 1 or 2) I think it also protects N.T. Human ECs from discard as well as heroes which seems a bit odd, especially for a red enhancement.

I believe all the Angels will receive errata to be generic unique.

That was intentional. A Hero with Gentleness creates a "gentle" battle.  :)

The other issues with Gentleness and Stephen I need to check on.

Assuming that's a typo as I thought they were getting changed to be unique, not generic, lol.

Are you sure the second isn't supposed to be a single ability "protect N.T. Humans" from two different kinds of abilities "discard abilities and negate play abilities?"

"Negate play" is not a type of ability, and even if it were you cannot protect from a negate. Only CBN stops a negate. I'll admit it would have been clearer if they had reworded it to: "While that Hero is in battle, negate play abilities and protect N.T. humans from discard abilities."
