Ok....so im testing a new Tabernacle deck vs. TGT/Animal defense. Heres scenario: rescue with dutiful blocked by esau promo. My question is does dutifuls ability trigger right away to be able to play gifts and offerings to force esau to wothdraw? If thats the case my next question would be can opponent play dream to interrupt the wd? All that being said Esaus ability would have never triggered, correct? Sorry this scenario is confusing.

No, Esau completes before dutiful as he was the last card to enter battle his special completes, then dutiful may play which does give Esau special initiative to play dream

Thanks JD! Good to hear from you again! So, with this new knowledge, I, unfortunately, have a problem with Dutiful Priest. Wouldn't he be better if his numbers were higher and could play the enhance after being blocked? with such low numbers he already will have inish to play anyway.

Not necessarily. There are many commonly-used EC's that will get natural initiative against DP.
*EDIT* "Many" is a stretch, but any 1/1 will get initiative against him. I also think he's like that thematically because a Priest cannot perform his duties if he is plagued with diseases.
