Is there a such thing as drawing a new hand like a muligan in MTG, if you don't like your hand? If not, that would be cool, call it grace or something.

Nope....unfortunately thats the breaks of the game. You deal with the cards you are dealt.....sorta like life.
It's almost biblical if you think about it. God gives you what you need, it's your job to do the most with it.

Yeah, it's Biblical, just like not redeeming demons. Wait.......

well, sometimes my hand isn't what I need, but...
also, Redemption is not a copy of Magic. we don't need to start using their rules. although we could do it for a fun game.

Maybe it is and you just don't know it....like maybe God perfect plan is for you to lose 5-0 so that the other player gets some encouragement and you learn some perseverance? Just sayin's all....

haha, the difference between needing do win and needing.... nice, nice. but if God's plan is for me to lose 5-0, then something's messed up, since I'm playing T2 or Booster...

I do understand that it's Biblical, I was just wondering.

I've done this in for fun games a few times.

Most trading card games have a similar policy that is aligned to what might be missing in your opening hand. For instance, in Pokemon you get to draw a new hand if you don't have a Basic Pokemon and in Acceleracers you get to draw a new hand if you don't have a car.
So, in Redemption, should you get to draw a new hand if you don't have any characters?

I would say if you don't draw any lost souls. This way, it's a great risk/reward type thing.
Or, you could keep all the lost souls out that you drew/shuffle your hand/draw eight again.

The other games also have a penalty for the redraw, so this idea seems appropriate.

I like this, too, but it might also be a way for the player to get the power to decide who will go first, so I would say that if you do this, you have to let your opponent choose the first player.
