"...the effects a character gains while in a set-aside area remain with the character when he returns to the Field of Play until the character is removed from the game, returned to hand, or placed in a draw or discard pile. Moreover, the gained effect cannot be interrupted, prevented or negated." - REG (http://www.redemptionreg.com/REG/generaldescription211.htm)
Is the drawing from Pentecost a gained ability of the heroes or just part of the enhancement ability?
Broken Cisterns - "Place in an opponent's territory. Negate draw abilities used by that player. All Heroes in that territory are decreased by 0/X."
Pentecost - "Set aside all of your human Heroes for one turn. On return, you may draw three cards."
-
I think Pentacost is negated... not sure.
-
Pentecost isn't a gained ability, since it doesn't activate on a hero. I'm 99% sure Broken Cisterns would negate the drawing portion of it.
-
I'll add the other 1%.
Pentecost is negated. So is Provisions.

The card drawing part of provisions. The choose the blocker part cannot be negated.

Hey,
The drawing from Pentecost is not a gained ability.
An ability can only be prevented or negated during the phase that it activated in. So a previously placed Broken Cisterns would prevent Pentecost from drawing. But I'm pretty sure there is no possible way to activate Broken Cisterns after Pentecost is played to keep Pentecost from drawing.

Guys... guys... just because I used a type II broken cisterns deck and got killed doesn't mean it's good. ::)

It sure is a speed-stopper. :dunno:

What!? You too!? Alright!

I believe I used it in my 70-card Heroless Sitelock deck. It really is the best defense against Speed (even better than RBD, IMO).
