Doctrine Like Leaven (RA)
Type: Evil Enh. • Brigade: Black/Gray • Ability: None • Class: None • Special Ability: Set aside a Pharisee or Sadducee and decrease it 0/1 per turn. Each upkeep phase, search your discard pile for a generic Evil Character of the type set aside. Place it in your territory. • Identifiers: None • Verse: Matthew 16:12 • Availability: Rock of Ages booster packs (None)
Can I bring back the set aside EC?
-
I don't think so, it's not in your discard pile, it's set aside.
-
The character can return during any preparation phase, unless the set-aside card has a specified endpoint.
-
You can bring it back but once you do, you lose the revolving door for Sadducees (or Pharisees, I guess). I prefer to dump a big-defense character in set-aside and get the option to return my ECs for whatever, 7, 8, 10 turns. That amounts to at least half a game, sometimes the whole of it.

For some reason I thought that they had to stay set aside until discarded (I thought that's how Chemosh was ruled--but actually I see that's probably because Chemosh says until discarded). So actually that's probably a good way to get a 1/1 Pharisee/Sadducee...or a 10/1 Paul :o.

...Chemosh says until discarded...
That's it, exactly.
