I have danny banding to michael, with angel's sword and wheel. My opponent blocks with a human. Can I play a green or white card immediately? or does it have to be silver?
-
You can play any good color in battle.
-
okay, what about this: are nt enhancements that are green or white negated by danny since it's enhancements played by MICHAEL that are protected?
-
You can play any good color in battle.
This is not correct. Michael (the hero with ASword) must be the one to play the enhancement, so it must be silver.
NT Green and White enhancements would be negated, only silver enhancements would be CBN

So Cherubim + Ethiopian Treasurer + Spiritual Warfare isn't a legal play?
-
That works. The difference is the wording. ASword says "Hero" (i.e. Hero who is wearing Sword) may play an enhancement. ET says "Holder" referring to the player who controls ET.
-
Ethiopian Treasurer (Ap)
Type: Hero Char. • Brigade: Purple • Ability: 5 / 4 • Class: None • Special Ability: Search own draw pile or discard pile for one Bible icon with no special abilities. Holder may play the next enhancement card. • Play As: Search your deck or discard pile for one Bible icon with no special abilities and return it in hand. Holder may play an enhancement. • Identifiers: NT Male Human • Verse: Acts 8:27 • Availability: Apostles booster packs (Uncommon)
Angel's Sword (Ki)
Type: Hero Enh. • Brigade: Silver • Ability: 3 / 2 • Class: Weapon • Special Ability: If blocked by a human Evil Character, Hero may play the first enhancement. • Play As: If blocked by a human Evil Character, holder may play an enhancement. • Identifiers: OT, Depicts a Weapon • Verse: Numbers 22:23 • Availability: Kings booster packs (Common)

So that means Angel's Sword is an errata. Should we rule it as such, or is this one of those "Ignore erratas disguised as Play-As" deals. If the latter is the case, then the REG needs to be fixed since this is beyond annoying after all this time. Why were these "Play-As" added and who proofread them? Every card has a "Play-As" even when it is not needed.
-
These 'Play-as' were added to the REG to allow for easier searching as they used standardized keywords, instead of the sometimes archaic language on cards.
-
In the meantime, any host who uses the REG for rulings is going to have problems making consistent rulings with the Message Boards.
So which is it here? Do we follow the Play-As in the REG, or an Elder's ruling on the Boards?
-
The elder rulings are consistent with the original text. Disregard the errata.
-
Disregard the errata.
Then it shouldn't be there.
-
::) We've been having this problem for a long, long time. This is nothing new.

Which was my point. Something should have been done by now.
-
Agreed. Other than the definition of add to battle being broken, this is the most widely-known unaddressed problem in Redemption now that FTM has been fixed.
-
So let me clarify, I HAVE to play a silver enhancement?

You don't have to, but you can't play any other brigade (unless Michael has the ability to play another brigade somehow).

I meant if I have danny banded to michael with angel's sword, to use angel's sword's ability, I have to play a silver card
-
Correct.
As to the other topic, I am actually working on a project to update Play As and get rid of the disguised erratas. It's taking a lot of time, and I haven't had a ton of time to devote to it lately, but just know that something is being done.
-
Why is there these new erratas that don't follow the actual cards? And I have found that the play-as's can a lot of times have old wording that doesn't make much sense either. (Namely on the older cards) and that the newer cards w/ play-as's have a play-as that seems more of a waste of time then anything.
And yes, You can only play a Silver Enh. in battle w/ AS. If I have Jacob banded to Mike it doesn't mean that I can use AS to play a Blue Enhancement. (unless there was some strange new place card that gives Mike access to all brigades which could get bad quickly)
-
The bogus play-as were made by someone involved in REG2 who had a very poor understanding of redemption legality (albeit for an otherwise good reason).
