1: I block with a Assyrian and have initiative and play forgotten history to end the battle. My opponent then plays AotL. Would he get a soul or not? I figured no cause Forgotten History's effect had to complete before AotL's could take effect.
2: I make a attempt with Seraph w/ Live Coal and use its ability to search for Isaiah's Call. Can I play that and then use Seraph's abitity to band to Isaiah or no?

1. He would not get a soul, the battle ends, battle resolution happens and you move to the next phase before any additional cards may be played after forgotten history is played.
2. No, Seraph's ability activates only when he first enters battle. By the time you could have played Isaiah's call, his ability would have finished its activation.

Furthermore, he couldn't even play AotL until the Discard phase. So if you have an Assyrian with Horses, he can enter battle, play Forgotten History and return to the safety of his camp without ever being vulnerable to a Dom.

Ok thanks but what if I searched for Isaiah with Seraph's ability would that work out.
-
Yes, because the search ability on Seraph is before the band so Isaiah goes to hand and then can be banded from there.

Seraph's ability cannot search for Isaiah with his ability, he only searches for an enhancement

Oh, right, forgot about that...
Yep, can't search for Isaiah but it's true in that situation if he did search for Isaiah he would still be able to band to him.
