Title: Couple questions
Post by: Bobbert on March 17, 2018, 11:27:21 AM
A few questions that came up in a game the other day.

If I have Tabernacle holding a Tabernacle artifact and I attack with Ithamar, can I activate a different Tabernacle artifact in Tabernacle? Is the previous artifact negated?

If your opponent forces you to draw and you draw the Darkness LS, does it count as being put in play by their special ability?

Ithamar, son of Aaron (Play As): Search deck for The Tabernacle and put it in play. You may activate an Artifact on The Tabernacle.

Darkness: If put in play by an opponent's special ability (or if you have no Evil Characters in territory when drawn), you may search deck or Reserve for an Evil Character and put it in hand or play.

I'm not 100% certain on the artifact one, but I believe deactivating an artifact is the same as a TC character being moved out of territory (somewhere other than battle). It's ability isn't negated, but it just stops working.

For the Darkness LS, yes, a forced draw ability is their draw ability.

Wouldn’t that not be allowed though since there’s already an activated artifact in that location? Usually a card’s ability would say to deactivate then activate a new one.

Activating an artifact deactivates any artifact that was already active in the location. "Deactivate and activate" is just a lot of words when you're almost always deactivating the first artifact.

As for Darkness, I was under the impression that while it is your opponent's draw ability, it was a game rule that put the LS in play so it didn't trigger.

Hmm, maybe I remembered that wrong regarding Darkness. I know it was asked soon after RoJ released.
