Title: Couple Questions
Post by: adotson85 on October 30, 2008, 12:44:24 AM
1.  Gabriel meets Zecharias reads "Search deck for a N.T. Hero and add it to hand or battle. Prevent the special ability on the next evil card played this battle."  If this card is used on Captain of the Host, "Interrupt and prevent all special abilities except banding.  Fight by the numbers," is the special ability still applicable since it technically is banding, but also involves search your deck?

2.  Can the Strong Angel's specail ability, "All special abilities on character cards and enhancement cards except this one are interrupted and prevented.  Battle is determined by the numbers," be negated by any evil enhancement?  The reason I ask is because one post I recently read on the boards said that Sapphira's special ability, "Negate all special abilities on characters and enhancements (except this ability),"
could be negated by The Might of Faith.

1. Since GMZ involves searching, Captain negates that card.

2. The Strong Angel's ability can be negated if the negating card cannot be negated (or prevented, as is the case with The Might of Faith vs Sapphira).

One example would be Confusion of Mind (the Pale Green curse) used as an enhancement in battle.

Thanks.. but i thought Confusion of Mind's special ability was only applicable if used as an artifact.

nope.  the ability activates whether it is used as an art of an EE.  However, the EE only lasts until the end of the phase

Ok so let me make sure I completely understand curses then.  If played as an artifact the numric abilities (*/*) are negated and the special ability is activated and treated as a normal artifact and if used as an enhancement both the numbers and special ability activate, but must be discarded after use.

Wow, well you learn something new everyday in this game.  My friends and I used to play several years ago, but we took a couple years off and we just started playing again a month or two ago.  It is amazing to see how much the game has changed, but it has definantly changed for the better.  When we first started playing several years ago we thought that having fought in an earthly battle meant that card had been in a previous battle that game.

It is treated as a normal artifact BUT cards that target a curse can still target it.

Yeah, a curse is always identified as a curse, but is also identified as either an artifact or an enhancement depending on how it's used (and same with covenants, too).
