Title: Compassion of Jeremiah
Post by: Warrior King on August 23, 2015, 08:25:29 PM
While organizing lower level cards for my playgroup, I came across some wording that I had not seen before. Compassion of Jeremiah (white 1/1) says "Hero ignores red brigade." I assume that this refers to "crimson," but I have never heard of the evil brigade being referred to as "red." Is this a correct assumption?

I believe the intention was to ignore what crimson was at the time, yes. However, now that red and crimson are separate (and there's no rule that I know of about ignoring your own alignment) I would think the enhancement ignores what it says, red brigade, which is red heroes. Aggie is correct, there is a distinction in ignore I hadn't seen before.

Except you can only ignore cards of a different alignment.  The unlimited version was even corrected, so the limited version probably either needs errata or it's understood by the nature of ignore that it refers to crimson.

I agree with Aggie, and I believe there are other examples. There was another good enhancement that said "ignores green," which was referring to the Limited print run evil green brigade, but now would mean "pale green." It may have been Submissiveness of Mary, or something like that. There used to be one of those ignore cards to combat each evil brigade.

I figured that it couldn't ignore good brigades, but I just wanted to make sure. Thanks all.
