Is Chief Captain Lysias considered a Centurion? It doesn't say he is in the REG, but i feel like he should be.

Lysias was not a centurion, but rather Chiliarch, which was the military rank above Centurions.

so would he activate Alexandrian ship?
-
No, because he was not a Centurion.
-
Hmm please help me understand why the boss is not able to do his employees job?
-
Because the card specifically says centurion. Lysias may be in charge of centurions, but he himself isn't one. Just like Steve Bisciotti may be the owner of the Ravens, and may be the boss of his coaches, but he himself is not a coach.

Ok thanks. But I believe army ranks are different because you go from 1 level to the next.

Ok, at one point I was a student, but now that I graduated I no longer am. So if I go to the movies I can't get a student ticket because even though I was once a student, I am not any longer. Lysias is never a centurion when we see him in the bible.

The reason I originally asked was to see if I could make a Herod deck with Alexandrian ship and have it activate off of lysias.
-
Fair enough. :-) I'm no longer a college student either :)
