Title: Chaldeans
Post by: Red Dragon Thorn on August 08, 2009, 11:39:48 PM
Are Chaldeans considered Magicians for redemption gameplay purposes?

Chaldeans 5/7 Gray.

No S.A.

Daniel 4:7
Then came in the magicians, the astrologers, the Chaldeans, and the soothsayers; and I told the dream before them: but they did not make known unto me the interpretation therof.

They are listed alongside Astrologers, (Magician) Soothsayers would work magic to divine the future (In theory)
Additionally I did some research and it seems to me that they were the Magicians from Babylon.

Thanks,

RDT

EDIT: Props to you if you can find a copy of this card: Look at the dude on the left, he's totally got a magic wand/staff, totally magicians.

Nice find, RDT.  Yes they are magicians.

At one point I think they were considered for reprint in TexP but didn't make the final list.  When they were being considered the identifier said they were magicians.

They seem to be missing from the list of magicians in the REG. (http://www.redemptionreg.com/REG/gloss_magicians.htm)  I can't say that it really mattered much before now, but suddenly it becomes relevant.

Yeah, I noticed they were missing from the list too, so I was mildly dissapointed until I read the card again and realized they probably should be.
