Title: Cannot be negated fortresses
Post by: stefferweffer on December 16, 2009, 02:06:45 PM
I've noticed enhancements that say things like "Interrupt any Wall of Protection and band...".  Those seem clear.

What about the new TxP Gomer who bands to male evil character, "Cannot be negated".  Negate means "interrupt and prevent" at the same time, right?  Does this mean that TxP Gomer can band to your EC even if you have a Wall of Protection?  It seems like the fortress is "preventing" it, so "cannot be negated" would mean that the prevention is gone, right?  Why of why not?

Thanks.

"Cannot be negated" can't be negated (obviously :P), but it can be foiled by protection. Wall of Protection protects the holder's characters from being brought into battle, it doesn't negate anything. Gomer still works when WoP is out, she just can't target any characters under the effect of it.

Right. The protection of WoP is interrupted by cards like Water Shaft and Ehud, but protection beats CBN. It's the same concept as protection forts like Assyrian Camp protecting against AoCP, which CBN.

So basically "cannot be negated" means "Cannot be interrupted afterward or prevented beforehand, but some cards may offer PROTECTION from this affect".  Does this sound right?  Thanks.
