Title: Can Ignoring be a Response?
Post by: SignoftheStar on October 16, 2013, 04:33:36 PM
Let's say my Good Samaritan is being faced by Goliath, whose special ability sends Good Samaritan back to his territory. Can I now play Kindness, which allows me to ignore an evil brigade in battle, so as to ignore black and thus Goliath and thus his special ability, therefore keeping Good Samaritan in battle?

Protection and immunity (ignore grants this condition as well) only stop things from affecting the card going forward.  They cannot undo anything that already happened.  Only interrupt/negate can undo, and since Goliath is CBN, ignoring him will not allow anyone back into battle at all.

So in other words, in order for me to ignore Goliath in this situation, I would first have to interrupt his special ability, which I can't even do in the first place because he is CBN.

Correct.  You can never play an enhancement on a character that is being removed from battle battle unless the ability that is removing you is first interrupted.
