Title: Birth Foretold
Post by: Carl deuty on May 13, 2011, 02:45:44 PM
What exactly can you do to stop these characters during the turn that Birth Foretold is played? Are Samson, JTB, and Isaac like Thad is when he has 10 disciples in play?

Birth Foretold (Di)
Type: Hero Enh. • Brigade: Silver • Ability: 1 / 4 • Class: Territory • Special Ability: Search deck for Isaac, Samson, John the Baptist, or Son of God. Protect cards with those titles from opponents' cards this turn. • Identifiers: NT, Based on Prophecy • Verse: Luke 1:31

Just get bigger numbers.  At least Birth Foretold doesn't protect against banding.

End the battle enhancements work just as well.

End the battle enhancements work just as well.

As does immunity, especially CBN immunity. In my T2 multi deck (Samson+BF x5) I actually used Entertaining Angels to win me a battle after someone had played Balaam's Disobedience. It was pretty awesome. But since most people don't use Entertaining Angels, BD will usually work just fine vs. a BF'd character.

I use The Stars in my T1 BF deck.

Can't you negate the protection as well?

Can't you negate the protection as well?

And how would you propose to do that? It's an ongoing ability activated in another phase that is not on a card in play.

I missed that it was a territory class enhancement, my bad. >_>

Yeah. When it was first conceived, I thought a TC enhancement that searched for SoG was OP'd. In my experience though, it has been a fairly balanced card, mostly because Silver is fairly non-speedy to begin with and probably needs the help, and unless it is used as part of a Bulletproof Samson/John (or Isaac I guess, but I have yet to see that) strategy, it's a dead card if you draw SoG first.
