I noticed when reading Heal in the REG that you can in fact heal characters being discarded due to battle resolution. I assume that this does not allow you to add a Hero to battle with Bearing Our Sin since even though battle resolution is suspended while you play the heal, the battle has already moved to the resolution step and a character cannot be added. Figured I might as well get confirmation.

Correct. There is a clarification in the Add to Battle entry that you can't add cards to a battle in battle resolution.
