Title: Banding Trouble
Post by: Scoobug on January 23, 2012, 09:49:09 PM
I am trying a Sadducees defense for the first time and was appalled when in the rule book I found in the back that you can't have two Sadducees with the same card art in your deck. There are only four variations, which significantly weakens a Sadducees defense. And how does this work with generic cards that band to its kind like Elders of Jerusalem that, (I believe) have only one card art?

Redemption® Rulebook > Deck Building Rules
Generic characters with special abilities that have the same name and card art are limited to a maximum of 1 each per 50 cards in a deck. If the card art is different, you may select a maximum of 1 each per 50 cards in a deck from each variant. For example, you can have one of each of the black brigade Sadducees (4 Variants) cards in a deck that is smaller than 100 cards, provided they each have different card art.

Elders of Jerusalem have three variations in card art, and all three are legal together in a 50 card deck. However, some cards have only one variant but can band to themselves; examples are Cherubim (2011 Set), Absalom's Soldiers, and Gibeonite Delegates. In these cases you can only have 1 per 50 cards in T1, but they are better in T2, where you can have up to four of them.
