Title: Artifact activation
Post by: Korunks on September 08, 2009, 10:12:42 AM
Here's the Scenario.  Have an artifact pile with Unsuccessful active.  I play from hand during my prep phase Temple of Dagon:

Temple of Dagon

Type: Fortress • Brigade: Multicolor • Ability: None • Class: None • Special Ability: Protect Philistine Evil Characters in your territory from capture. • Identifiers: Holds one active Altar of Dagon • Verse: I Samuel 5:2 • Availability: Priests booster packs (Rare)

I then activate Altar of Dagon, The question is since I have to deactivate Unsuccessful to activate altar of dagon(right ?) can I then activate a second artifact on my artifact pile?

...I have to deactivate Unsuccessful to activate altar of dagon(right ?)...
I don't know why you would have to do that...

You do not have to deactivate Unsuccessful.  You are just transfering the alter artifact to the fortress.  You will be able to have both artifacts active at the same time.

But Temple of Dagon hold one active altar of dagon, I cant transfer unless my altar is active.

You have to deactivate an artifact to activate another artifact in the same pile, but I've never heard that you have to deactivate an artifact in your artifact pile to activate another artifact somewhere else.

Hey,

But Temple of Dagon hold one active altar of dagon, I cant transfer unless my altar is active.

An ability that holds an active artifact is an ability that lets you place an inactive artifact on the card and then activate it.
