Title: Are Set-Aside Draws CB-anything?
Post by: megamanlan on February 28, 2012, 03:45:50 AM
I was in a game a while ago and I played against an opponent that played a Hand destruction technique where he used Feast of Trumpets & LS (Pigs)
Does this work?

Here is for better understanding:
Feast of Trumpets
0/0 Teal/Green Good Enhancement
Leviticus 23:24
Set aside all of your Human Heroes for one turn. On return, choose a number from 1 to 4. All players must place that number of cards from hand beneath own draw pile and draw an equal number of cards.

Lost Soul
Luke 15:15-16
Prevent all Draw Abilities, except on Heroes.

Is the draw prevented or not? I'm not sure because of the 'Excluding Set-Aside' rule. (Basically, Cards cannot negate cards in Set-Aside unless they state Set-Aside)

Ahh, I see Clift is back to his old tricks B) Yes, the combo works (provided Pigs was out when Feast of Trumpets was played).

To expound upon Pol's correct answer: Since Feast of Trumpets has to enter play before it sets anything aside (you have to play it on a hero in territory or battle), Pigs LS CAN target its ability to prevent the draw portion.

If Pigs enters play after FoT is already set aside, however, then the draw happens as normal.

Okay, so they are CBI?
No.  We don't have anything in the game that can interrupt them currently.

I mean CBI as in when they return, they can't be stopped, right?

What does LS (pigs) do, and what set is it in, and is it N.T or O.T?

Hey,

If played in battle (and an angel was in battle so the set-aside didn't end the battle) the set-aside could be negated by a "negate the last enhancement played in current battle" card.  So they are not CBI.

Cards cblan only be negated during the phase they are activated.  So when the set-asides are used during the prep phase they are basically (possibly entirely) impossie to negate because cards don't exists that can be played during your opponent's prep phase to negate their set-asides.

Tschow,

Tim "Sir Nobody" Maly

There are some ongoing abilities that will partially do so (Pigs will negate any drawing portion of a set-aside Enhancement played while it's active).
