Title: Add to battle vs. exchange vs. band
Post by: SomeKittens on September 19, 2011, 09:47:07 AM
Is an exchange ability separate from a band ability?  Both add to battle, but I'm still unsure of the distinction.

As far as I know, exchange is not a band ability even if it causes an additional character to be in battle, though that seems inconsistent with "add to battle" counting as a band in the same circumstance, but what do I know?

Is this correct? Elder?

No elder is needed. This was specifically laid out when Perpetual Priesthood was released as a way around HHI, and it hasn't changed. This is, in itself, not a controversial ruling. The controversy is why "add to battle" abilities that can have different card types added are considered banding if they add a character.

That is correct.
