Title: Aaron
Post by: Ironisaac on June 09, 2017, 03:32:30 PM
Is Aaron considered a "house of Eleazar" priest? Eleazar was his son, so he is "in his house" technically...

The following characters are considered from the house of Eleazar:
● Ahimaaz (Ki), Ahimaaz (Pi), Amariah the High Priest (Pi), Azariah the High Priest
(Pi), Eleazar, son of Aaron (Pi), Eleazar, Son of Aaron (PC), Eliashib the High Priest
(Pi), Ezra (Pi), Hilkiah the High Priest (Pi), Jaddua, son of Jonathan (TP), Jehoiada
the High Priest (Pi), Joiada, Son of Eliashib (FF), Joiakim, Son of Joshua (FF),
Jonathan, son of Joiada (P), Joshua the High Priest (Pi), Phinehas, son of Eleazar
(Pi), Seraiah the High Priest (Pi), and Zadok (Pi)

Aaron is not on this list

"House of Eleazar" could also be interpreted "Descendant of Eleazar". I believe "House" was used because that's the terminology used in scripture.

Obviously Aaron could not be a descendant of his own son.
