When I block with 7WS, does that mean:
A. my opponent has to show me what EC they have on the darkness?
B. I have to show my opponent what is on my Darkness?
C. All artifacts activated on temples and tabernacles are momentarily deactivated until the SA completes?
D. my satan's seat is interrupted allowing the rescuing Thad to protect everything from 7WS, who then dies painfully?
-
A very Tentative yes to all four. :-\

Yes to all four.

If I exchange 7WS with the EC from my opponents Darkness, where does 7WS go?

If you could do that it would go into your opponent's Darkness.
The problem is that you can't do that.
The face down character in The Darkness is out of play and cannot be targeted by 7WS's SA.

Into your opponent's Darkness.
even though the fortress is being interrupted? aka, if the SA doesn't work, how can it hold an EC?
-
I don't think that thad's ability would activate because it was negated, but if I'm wrong his ability would be re-negated after you lose your opportunity to exchange. I could be wrong on both counts however as I am not very experienced with protection
-
isnt hold an identifier now? meaning arts on temples/tabernacles are not deactivated, and 7ws would still be exchanged into a darkness?
-
Sorry, I modified my above answer once I realized you hadn't found out some tricky way to get around the fact the EC in Darkness was face down.
To answer your last question... The exchange SA basically swaps one-for-one ignoring how the character got into the location in the first place. In this sense it is similar to why you can exchange the Wanderer Lost Soul for the Site Doubler lost Soul and have the Wanderer be a second LS in a site. Negating the SA would not kick anybody out of The Darkness, because the SA is a place ability and that has already occurred in a previous phase.

what about temples?
ik hold is an identifier, so the artifact doesn't go anywhere, but does it stay active? I feel as though is should sit there useless, kind of like enh on a negated storehouse

When you interrupt a Fortress, you interrupt it's ability. The hold identifier on Temples is not an interruptable ability. So even if you were to place Peter's Curse on a temple, the Artifact could hang out an be active.
As for the Darkness, MJB is correct. The place already happened in a previous phase, and completed place abilities cannot be interrupted after the phase they are placed. The hold ability is ongoing, but since it's an identifier, it CBI. You also cannot exchange for the EC, because it is not targetable by SWS, which can only target EC's in play or set-aside; face down EC's are neither. You also don't have to show your opponent what's in the Darkness, as the place ability puts the EC face down, and the hold ability keeps it face down. Neither can be interrupted.
Your Stan's Chair is interrupted, however, it is only interrupted until SWS completes. Thad's negated ability cannot reactivate before SWS completes, and by the time it does complete, Stan's Chair is back in action before Thad's ability can kick in.
